Who is the Executive Chef? Jordan Toft. Follow him on Twitter.
Where did he work before? He started cooking in Sydney, Australia in 1997. Throughout that time, Jordan worked with Peter Doyle, first at Celcius and then at Est. , where he progressed to the role of Sous Chef. Est. has been awarded “three hats” by the prestigious Good Food Guide every year since 2004. During 2006 and 2010, Jordan traveled and worked in Italy and Spain, where his daily routine included sourcing produce from the local markets in small villages.
Who owns Eveleigh? Nick Mathers & Nick Hatsatouris. They also own Kingswood in New York.
What is the significance of the name? It is an inner-city suburb in Sydney, and the home to the award-winning Eveleigh Farmer’s and Artisan’s Markets.
What type of food is on Eveleigh’s menu? A local, farm-to-table and market driven menu influenced by rustic, old-world European and American country cooking.
What type of cocktails are on Eveleigh’s menu? Handcrafted, seasonal cocktails with market-fresh herbs & fruits, house-made syrups & infusions, utilizing small-batch, handcrafted spirits.
What are typical wines found on Eveleigh’s wine list? Many of the wines featured on the list are from productions of less than 1000 cases and some of our favorites are from productions of less than 100 cases. The wine list’s geographical origins are relatively well-balanced between France, California, and Australia/New Zealand.
When did Eveleigh open? November 1st, 2010.
Who designed the restaurant? Nick Mathers. Many of the decorative adornments around the restaurant come from antique fairs across the US.
What are the restaurant’s parking options? There is valet that is available for $6 in front of the restaurant. There is also public parking across the street for $1 per hour. Metered parking can be found on Sunset Blvd.
Are there vegetarian dishes? Yes.We usually have 10 or 12 veggie items each day/night. Please call the day of to see what options we have available that day, since menu changes daily.
What is the dress code? Trendy casual.
Does Eveleigh take walk-ins? Yes. There are numerous tables held for walk-ins, on a first come, first serve, basis. The full menu is also available at the bar.
What is the wait time for walk-ins? This varies greatly. You can always call ahead that evening and speak with our host.
Does Eveleigh have gift certificates? Yes, in any denomination. Email us at email@example.com.
What about large parties? Eveleigh can seat complete tables of 7 or less on a walk-in or reservation basis only. Parties greater than 7 should contact our Office Manager at reservations@theeveleigh for up to 14 people. Larger parties may contact Kate at Kate@theeveleigh.com to discuss private event options.
